Hello again,
Well it's my final posting of the week and it is Friday - hurrah! The week is nearly over and a lot of us will get to enjoy the weekend. However, this weekend is not only a holiday for people in China. We get some extra time off here in the UK too.
This weekend is what we call a Bank Holiday weekend. A Bank Holiday is a day when banks, and lots of other businesses are closed. They are usually on a Monday to give us a three-day weekend. Apart from major British holidays like Christmas and Easter, there are bank holidays at the beginning and end of May, and at the end of August too.
However, if you work in a shop, or somewhere like a cinema, or of course you have a job like a doctor or a policeman - then you may not get a day off. These days most things are open on these holiday days, which is great if you have a holiday but maybe not so great if you work in one of these jobs.
So what do people do on Bank Holidays? Well, it really depends on the weather as British weather can be quite unpredictable and it has been very rainy lately! This first holiday in May is often a time when people do DIY actually - so decorating and painting etc. This is because the weather is often starting to get a bit nicer after the winter, so people can get outside and do work on their houses.
Some people go away for the weekend. That's what I am going to do. I am going to a town called Winchester in the south of England. It is a very pretty historic city, so I will do a bit of sightseeing. There is a cathedral - which is a very big grand church - which is supposed to very beautiful. I also just plan to relax and sleep a bit longer. It will be nice not to get up so early to go to work!

How will you be spending the May holiday in China? How many days holiday do you have?
Oh and for all the people who replied to the idiom quiz, most of you again were right. If you describe something like "watching paint dry" it means it is very boring. If you think, paint takes quite a long time to dry on a wall - so if you watch it dry that really can't be very interesting.
I hope you May holidays aren't like watching paint dry!
Look forward to hearing from you.
Enjoy the weekend!
Until next time,
Jo
