Hi,
Thanks for the recommendations of places to visit - they sound lovely and I hope I get the chance to see them sometime.
Thank you to
小池 and Qzone用户 for telling me more about candied gourd - it sounds very nice.
On Monday evening we ate duck which was delicious! Here is a photo:
It has been a busy week in Beijing, meeting lots of people, eating lots of wonderful Chinese food, and luckily the weather has improved - it's still cold but the fog has gone.
I enjoyed meeting students at our seminars at the Beijing Foreign Languages University yesterday and at Peking University this evening. If you were at one of our seminars, please comment on my blog and tell me what you enjoyed most about the seminar.

The QQ.com and BBC Learning English teams with students.
On our BBC Learning English website, we have a programme called
"Ask About Britain", which answers questions sent to us from learners of English in China, about Britain and British culture. Before each seminar I recorded some students asking questions that we can make programmes about. Here's a photo of two students I spoke to:
The girl on the left is called Dari, who asked me what the British think about the 2012 Olympic Games.
I think British people are getting quite excited about the Olympics coming to London in 2012 and our underground trainline is being extended to help people travel to see the Olympics.
But of course the Beijing Olympics is less than a year away! What do you think about the Olympics coming to Beijing? Are you planning to go?
We have a new learning programme called
"BBC Olympic English" for beginners.

Also, see more updates on our tour in China here:

Bye for now,
Emily
